flash forward

one move. one baby girls first birthday. one holiday season. one new year. and one end of daylight savings later here we are. I check the hydrangeas and lilacs in our back garden every morning...they are ages away from blossoming. Whoever said "to learn patience, watch a garden grow," is right. I have found patience in the later sunsets, in the whisper of summer on the way, in the sturdier steps of our littlest one. I am happy to be out of hibernation. Every year no matter where I spend it, the effect of winter dulls my senses. And then my beloved spring arrives. Bright with promise, alive with growth, honest with time.
